? West Queen West’s Pollinator Paradise is back in full bloom! ?

Welcome to Toronto’s very first bee-friendly streetscape. In partnership with Restorative Landscapes, this West Queen West community project aims to create an edible, bee-friendly streetscape amidst our thriving urban landscape. How does a Pollinator Paradise Work? Our planter beds hold a mix of pollinator, edible, and medicinal plants primarily native to Southwestern Ontario. Feel free to pick some herbs and berries to garnish your salad and soothe a sore, but be sure to help preserve the flowers to aid in pollination–the nectar sources of these plants support declining bee and insect life in our area. Did you know that we are the first Bee City Business in Canada and the first Bee BIA?! It’s true! We  ???! We also have bee hotels scattered in our neighbourhood and each of our planters feature incredible local artists and their art! Take a walk between Bathurst and Gladstone to check out our Outdoor Art & Artist Gallery and our Pollinator Paradise.

Saturday, May 19th at The Great Hall: Justin Townes Earle – Solo Tour. 7 PM. 19+

Sunday, May 20th at Death & Taxes: May Long Weekend. $5 Jameson + $5 cask beer. Music by Diggy The DJ. For more information email deathandtaxes@donnellygroup.ca.

Saturday, May 19th at The Beaver: Connection: From Disco to House! 10 PM. Disco never died. She transformed into House. House was Disco’s revenge. Beam Me Up explores the Connection between Disco & House, both through songs that laid the groundwork for House music and those edits and remixes that blurred the line between two of dance music’s most revered movements. While residents the Patchouli Brothers & Cyclist may hold the reins on this musical wandering, their Disco heat is matched by a crowd of congregants that converge to make this party what it really is: a warm, inclusive experience!
