Stories: Emerging Members Exhibition at Propeller Art Gallery

Propeller Art Gallery presents Stories: Emerging Members Exhibition, a group exhibition featuring recent work by Lex Barrie, Mert Kann Burnz, Tiffany Duong, and Abby Gowland.

Running from January 7 to 18, 2026, this exhibition brings together four emerging artists whose practices reflect personal, cultural, and material narratives. While each artist approaches storytelling through a distinct medium and perspective, their works are connected by a shared desire to speak honestly through art and to invite viewers into lived experience.

Lex Barrie captures fleeting moments of everyday joy through photography, transforming ordinary details into poetic expressions of resilience and care. Mert Kann Burnz works across painting and sculpture, exploring harmony between industrial forms and organic materials. Tiffany Duong paints layered reflections on modern womanhood, weaving nostalgia and critique to challenge cultural expectations. Abby Gowland’s print-based work uses humour, vulnerability, and feminist storytelling to explore personal identity.

Together, these works reflect the diversity of voices within Propeller’s Emerging Members program. Though their stories differ in content and form, each artist contributes to a collective conversation about memory, place, identity, and becoming. As emerging artists, their stories are still unfolding, yet already demonstrate the power of art as a shared language.
