Presented by Viv Moore, Pull Up Your Socks is a bold, movement-based show that weaves together dance, song, text, film, and the fantastical world of pirates and faeries.
At its core, the piece explores ageing, grief, humour, and memory while challenging cultural expectations of women and those experiencing dementia — whether as carers or sufferers. Moore’s rebellious spirit confronts ageism and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the outsider.
Born in post-WWII England, Viv draws on her Celtic roots, family history, and decades of international performance in dance, theatre, clown, Butoh, and fight choreography. Pull Up Your Socks is both a deeply personal journey and a universal tale of survival, creativity, and rebellion.
