Event Details

Paul Petro Contemporary Art presents Nature’s Wild with Andil Gosine (RETURNS) — a bold and deeply personal group exhibition featuring collaborative works by Andil Gosine with Llanor Alleyne, Romy Ceppetelli, Bev Koski, Zachari Logan, Angie Quick, Deborah Root, Marinna Shareef, and Natalie Wood.

This exhibition, three years in the making, continues Gosine’s acclaimed exploration of animality, discipline, and freedom — expanding on the ideas introduced in his book, Nature’s Wild: Love, Sex and Law in the Caribbean.

Each piece examines the intersection of natural desire, identity, and social constraint. Installations like Lifetime Achievement (2025) ask, “What happened to the boy in the postcard?”—a reflection on what we sacrifice in pursuit of progress and belonging.

Originally scheduled to debut at the Art Museum of the Americas (AMA) in Washington, D.C., the exhibition was cancelled just weeks before opening, sparking widespread media attention. In response, Paul Petro Contemporary Art now proudly presents this reimagined show in solidarity with artists, curators, and advocates for artistic freedom worldwide.

Visitors can explore the installations in person and view individual works and installation images here, alongside a specially curated playlist by Andil Gosine to accompany the exhibition.
