Art Opening: Machine
Gladstone House invites the public to Art Opening: Machine, a DesignTO Festival exhibition celebrating new installations and artworks that examine how machines shape the way we live, work, and create.
While technology can improve accessibility, enable creative experimentation, and foster connection, it also raises questions around alienation, labour displacement, and overconsumption. Machine brings these tensions into focus through the work of five contemporary artists whose practices engage directly with our complex relationship to technology.
Featured artists Giorgio Ceccato, Laura Heaney, Paola Poletto, Christopher Rouleau, and Caleb Saraby Sandblom explore machine aesthetics, systems, and structures through a range of materials and conceptual approaches.
Guests can also meet Gladstone House Resident Artists Tyler Burey, Vishwa Patel, and Emaan Shaikh in the Art Studio during the event.
Remarks will take place at 6:30 PM, followed by a continuation of the evening in Cassette at Gladstone House with a DJ set from 8:00–10:00 PM. Admission is free, with a cash bar available.
