"...Designer Sonja den Elzen cited her inspiration as a "nomadic tribe in the tundra," but it worked. With subtle design and styling touches such as driftwood and shed antler jewellery, she executed the barren winter wonderland theme without venturing into the realm of costume.
Her studio store sits in the long shadow between the Gladstone and the Drake hotels on West Queen West. Den Elzen is her own shopkeep: "A lot of my [wholesale] stores order just bits and pieces, so it's great to have people come in and really get a feel for the collection,..."
