Georgia Scherman Projects
Georgia Scherman Projects first opened in the west end of Toronto in the fall of 2006. In November 2008 the gallery moved to its current location, a 2500 square foot light industrial space on Tecumseth Street, just south off Queen Street West, in downtown Toronto.
GSP represents Tony Scherman, Margaret Priest, Spring Hurlbut, John Massey, Anitra Hamilton, Marman + Borins, Ross Bell, Melanie Authier and Fraser Stables. Spanning from emerging to established this group of artists was intentionally brought together to celebrate a cross generational discourse.
We have committed ourselves to creating a discourse between Canadian and international galleries, institutions and artists. GSP incorporates other “projects” that go beyond our function as a traditional commercial gallery. Operating which focuses on promoting discourse within a broad art community. We endeavour to mount exhibitions that might not be possible within conventional gallery or museum structures and to actively pursue collaborations with independent curators and artists both nationally and internationally.
