Taking its inspiration from the exciting and vibrantly multicultural community that is developing along Toronto's Queen Street west of Bathurst, Magpie Designs is all about exploring new ways to think about textile and design in women's fashion.

Our hand-made garments and accessories are singular and innovative in their employment of linens, tapestries, woolens, hand-painted silks and leathers, antique textiles, and exotic beads. Our garments respect the integrity of the textile by allowing the uniqueness of every piece of fabric to guide the design process. Our accessories put to use diverse and exotic media in striking and memorable combinations. The result is a couture that incorporates influences from the many lands and cultures that have supplied our textiles: India, Africa, Indonesia, Japan, Italy, and Ireland are all represented in a "look" that nonetheless transcends any single cultural influence.

Each garment is unique, exotic, and just slightly bohemian. All are custom-fitted to you, the customer, so that the one-of-a-kind design becomes part of your look, and a reflection of your personality. We offer a diverse range of jackets, dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, coats, jewelry, belts, and scarves.
